Viva Velo Cycling Club

Welcome to VVCC – the official cycling club of Viva Velo Cycle Tours and Events.  We have great plans for the rest of 2018: interesting rides, opportunities to learn new skills from the pros, great kit, discounts on trips and services and a lot more.  The club ethos is very simple: cycle together, support each other, develop new skills and more than anything else . . . have a great deal of fun. We very much hope you will join us. To join our monthly club rides scroll down to register

Our monthly rides take place usually on the second Saturday of each month and you can sign up for them below.  We aim to have three groups on each ride so there should be something to suit everyone.  We’ll publish details of each ride here and gpx files will be available via the Viva Velo CC page on Strava.

March Club Ride - returning to Surrey (2nd time lucky)

For our March Viva Velo CC club ride we're going to return to the Surrey hills, and the weather gods have promised to smile on us this month! We'll have a couple of routes: one just under 80 kilometers and the other adding another 20 K to that and a few more metres of climbing. So you can take your pick as we ride out from Richmond Park towards Esher and Cobham and then onto Greendene before stopping for coffee at the Queen’s Head in East Clandon. For those doing the longer route an additional loop taking in Crocknorth, Peaslake and Coombe Lane will add the extra distance and ascent. Post ride refreshment will be at the New Inn in Ham. This ride is likely to be very popular with spring around the corner, so we’d ask you to register below to join the ride asap. This will help us to help you by making sure we have enough ride leaders to make your day a fantastic one. Please note when registering if possible your group (Steady, Medium or Fast).

PLEASE NOTE: As always this ride is free but we do ask you to follow the instructions above and register noting your group preference. This will help us ensure we have enough ride leaders to provide you with an excellent day out in the saddle.

In addition, as some of you may know, in July Viva Velo's founder, Dyll Davies is committed to riding the whole of the 2019 Tour de France route - plus the bits in between stages! - some 5300 kilometers and 60,000 metres of ascent. You can find out more about this challenge here https://www.vivavelo.uk/thegrand-tour or on the FB page for the event here https://www.facebook.com/dyllsgrandtour and if you feel you'd like to make a small or large!) donation to his charities then you can do so here https://www.justgiving.com/teams/thegrandtourteam. Every penny will be gratefully received.
