Southern Dolomites
monte grappa circuit
The Southern Dolomites, with their rugged peaks and rolling hills, offer an unforgettable cycling experience. This seven-night, point-to-point tour starts and finishes at the base of historic and iconic Monte Grappa. As we travel through charming villages, picturesque vineyards, and dense forests, you’ll ride on smooth, winding roads and up demanding ascents including the breathtaking Monte Grappa itself. This area is less well known than the mountains closer to the Austrian border, so is more peaceful with less traffic. But it’s just as beautiful and has plenty of other inspiring challenges like Passo Manghen and Passo de Rolle. It’s a tour with plenty of climbing so not for the faint-hearted. But we offer at least two routes every day, with easier options to suit different ambitions. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist seeking a challenging mountain tour, or want a slower ride through stunning landscapes , this is an exhilarating escape into the heart of one of Italy’s most scenic regions.

““Highly recommend Viva Velo - I worked closely with Dyll to create a bespoke 6 day package for a small corporate group. The planning process was well managed and easy, no request was inconvenient, and the trip itself was fantastic. Amanda and Trevor looked after our group extremely well and they had a brilliant time. A big thank you to all the team!””

As to the cycling, the route will climb over the Passo Manghen - much beloved of the Giro d’Italia. We will stay in Tesero for a couple of nights and take on the Passi di Pampeago. Next day will see us climb the the Passo di Rolle before rounding up the trip in the last two days with various ascents of Monte Grappa. While there will be alternative routes offering harder and easier options this trip is not one for the feint hearted but if you like climbing in beautiful scenery it’s a must.
