Town to Crown to Gown - and back!

a two day long challenge for all abilities

The trip has its origins in a VVCT one we oregnaised shortly aftre Covid. We got to thinking. Rather than just organise an ordinary Viva Velo club ride (they are never ordinary really!) to celebrate the time when we can all ride out again why not plan on something a bit more special? And this two day festival of cycling was born.

Cycling from London (Richmond Park) to Windsor is a well-pedalled route for many of our London based clients but extending this ride to Oxford makes things a little bit more of a challenge. Add in the return journey (via a different route) on the following day and we think you have an easily accessible mini tour that will excite even the most indomitable of two wheel enthusiasts.

Cycling in Covid safe groups, divided according to ability we’ll break the journey with a coffee and lunch stop on each day. Those wishing to ride just one day can do so as public transport options to/from Oxford are plentiful.*

*Apologies to our non-London based members for whom it is probably not practical to join this trip (although why not make a weekend of it - we can help with places to stay on the Friday and Sunday nights!) but we do have other trips and tours that you might be interested in: Check out The Three Parks Tour, our Elan Valley trip and our New Forest and Purbeck Hills weekender.

“My husband and I have been on several cycling tours with Viva Velo since our initial experience in Majorca in 2017. They have always been great fun and have really supported and understood our various needs both as a couple and within the group we have cycled with. We have asked them to plan bespoke rides for our group of friends, such as London to Paris and they were brilliant. The accommodation has been excellent both when we have stayed in one place and also on point to point trips. They take a lot of time to think about the cyclists needs on the road and also how to add an element of fun and companionship in the down time. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and really look forward to our next experience with Dyll and the team..”
