Asti to Florence
an Apennine adventurE
After designing an epic cycling tour over the Alps from Geneva to Milan last year this group were keen to continue their journey southwards in 2020. After Covid 19 forced us to postpone the trip we hope 2021 will finally see us continue the adventure: this time all the way from Asti* to the iconic city of Firenze (Florence). This year there is no grand col to overcome en route but the Apennines lie in wait instead. The route takes us through the relatively flat Piedmont countryside as we head out eastwards towards Piacenza then onto the famous old city of Modena - famous among other things for its vinegar! The parcours then gets bumpier as we head for the hills for the last couple of days, breaking the journey at the delightful spa town of Porretta Terme in the process. The final leg of the tour sees us head to Florence via the climb to Fiesole that formed part of the World Championship course in 2013. The final night will then be spent relaxing and celebrating the achievement in the magical city of Florence before the group fly back the next day.
*The group actually opted to finish their previous trip in Asti rather than Milan as originally designed.
The Asti to Florence Tour winds its way through the varying terrain of Piedmont, Emilia Romagna and Tuscany and while the last two days offer a reasonable climbing challenge. In short, it is a tour designed to be accessible to a wide range of cycling experience and ability.

Guide Prices
From £1250 per person based on two sharing a twin room.
Single rooms are available at a supplement of £345.
Half-board option available on request at £30 per person per night.
Flights, lunches and drinks are not included.

Day -1 - Arrive Turin. Transfer to Asti. Prepare bikes
Day 1:Asti to Piacenza (170km - 750m)
Day 2: Piacenza to Modena (170km - 550m)
Day 3: Modena to Poretta Terme (92km - 1800m)
Day 4:Poretta Terme to Florence (114km - 1750m)
Day 5: Depart Fiesole*. Transfer to Bologna airport
*_The clients have asked us to finish this tour in Fiesole which is a much quieter and pretty neighbouring town which overlooks Florence itself.
